Why do companies offer paid surveys? That is a question people often ask. The reason many companies do it is because it is a cost effective way to do market research.

Often they will do surveys before bringing out a new product to test if there is a market for it. There is no point spending millions if there is no market for the product.

What they normally do is target the people that are likely to be their customers. They then offer them money to complete email or postal surveys. Or sometime they will contact them by telephone or face to face interviews.
